A Revocable Living Trust is a more sophisticated estate planning document that sets forth how your assets will be managed and distributed both during your lifetime and after your death. Such a trust provides for the management, protection and preservation of your assets should you become ill, disabled or simply challenged by the symptoms of aging. This type of Trust also provides what will happen to your assets upon your passing. E.g., they can be immediately distributed or continue to be held in trust to provide and care for your beneficiaries (such as young children). A Revocable Living Trust provides numerous advantages over a simple Will including the avoidance of Probate Court and the costs, expenses and time associated with the Probate Court process.
